Almeda Mall is a shopping mall located in the Southeast Houston neighborhood of Genoa on Interstate 45. It features more than 58 great stores, restaurants and services, offering a wide range of products and experiences for shoppers of all ages and interests. It also has a fun and friendly atmosphere, with a children’s play area, an arcade, and a photo studio. The mall opened in 1968 and was one of the first enclosed malls in Houston. It was originally anchored by Palais Royal, Sears, and JCPenney. It underwent several changes and renovations over the years, adding new stores such as Macy’s, dd’s DISCOUNTS, and Burlington. The mall is currently owned and managed by Levcor Inc., a Houston-based real estate company that specializes in retail properties. The mall has a variety of stores and services for shoppers of all ages and interests. Some of the popular stores include Bath & Body Works, Champs Sports, Foot Locker, Journeys, Melrose Family Fashions, New York & Company, Rainbow, The Uniform Superstore, and Zales. The mall also has several dining options for hungry shoppers, ranging from snacks to meals. The mall is open from Monday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The mall has a large parking lot with over 3,000 spaces and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. The mall is served by several bus routes of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO), such as Route 40 (Telephone/Heights), Route 88 (Broadway/Hobby), Route 247 (Fuqua Park & Ride), Route 249 (Monroe Park & Ride/Bay Area Park & Ride), and Route 265 (Kirkwood/Southpoint).
