Alamance Crossing is an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination in Burlington, North Carolina. It is the second shopping mall in the city, as well as the larger. It has more than 58 stores and services, including eight major anchor stores: Belk, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Barnes & Noble, Hobby Lobby, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and BJ’s Wholesale Club. The shopping center was developed and is managed by CBL & Associates Properties. The shopping center opened its first phase in 2007, with Belk and JCPenney as the first two anchors. Both of them relocated from the existing Burlington Square Mall (now Holly Hill Mall), the town’s older shopping center. Hobby Lobby was added in 2008. A second phase brought in Dillard’s and Barnes & Noble as additional anchors. A further expansion in 2009 added a movie theater. An expansion in 2011 brought Kohl’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Dick’s Sporting Goods to the center.
The shopping center is open daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, on Sunday from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The dining options include a variety of cuisines such as American, Asian, Italian and more. Some of the popular restaurants include Red Bowl Asian Bistro, Cork & Cow, Drake’s and The Peach Cobbler Factory. The shopping center also hosts events and promotions throughout the year, such as sales, giveaways and holiday celebrations. Shopping center has a total retail floor area of 855,000 square feet and attracts more than 10 million visitors annually. It has a carousel cinema that offers a bistro service with food and drinks delivered to your seat. The shopping center has ample parking spaces for visitors, with more than 3,000 stalls in four lots. The parking is free for all customers. The shopping center is accessible by public transportation, with several bus stops nearby. The shopping center also provides a free shuttle service that runs between Alamance Crossing and Elon University on weekdays.
