Was just surfing through the web and remembered visiting this place in the mid to late 1970's when living in Natchitoches, LA (about 140 miles away), came to the area (Independence Park) to fly model rockets with some rocketeers living near the area in Baton Rouge. I ventured to Cortana Mall out of curiosity and discovered they had (at the time) a fabulous hobby shop/store that had a LOT of stuff I wanted. Spent lots of money there. Good days.
DON'T GO
I saw a May 2019 video on YouTube stating this mall had only SIX stores open--five in the mall and the Dillard's Clearance Center, which can only be accessed from its front entrance, not the mall interior.
The fountains are shut off, and there is algae in standing water. Parking lots are filled with potholes. In short, avoid this place like the plague.
