Bayside Marketplace is a two-story open air shopping center located in the downtown Miami, Florida. It is situated along the banks of Biscayne Bay, with the City of Miami marina at its side. It is recognized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitor’s Bureau as the number one most visited attraction in Miami. Bayside Marketplace offers an entertainment experience with live music daily, restaurants, bars, open-container policy, family events and the picturesque settings that come with a waterfront property. Bayside Marketplace was built in 1987 by the Rouse Company, which also developed other famous festival marketplaces such as Faneuil Hall in Boston and Harborplace in Baltimore. The architect of Bayside Marketplace was Benjamin Thompson, who designed it to reflect Miami’s Art Deco style and tropical climate. The shopping center was renovated in 2006 and 2018 to update its facilities and appearance.

Bayside Marketplace has 91 shops, boutiques, and services, ranging from apparel and accessories to electronics and souvenirs. Bayside Marketplace also has over 50 carts and kiosks located in and around the center, offering unique products and gifts. Bayside Marketplace has a variety of dining options to suit every taste and budget. There are casual eateries such as Haagen-Dazs, as well as fine dining restaurants such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Hard Rock Cafe. Bayside Marketplace also has several bars and lounges where visitors can enjoy a drink and live music, such as Mojito Bar, Mambo Cafe. Bayside Marketplace is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Friday and Saturday) and from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Sunday). Bayside Marketplace is not only a shopping and dining destination, but also a gateway to explore Miami’s attractions and culture. Visitors can take a sightseeing cruise of Biscayne Bay and see the celebrity homes on Star Island, or hop on a bus tour to visit other landmarks such as South Beach, Little Havana, and Coral Gables. Bayside Marketplace also offers water sports activities such as jet ski rentals, parasailing, fishing charters and kayaking. Bayside Marketplace has ample parking spaces in its garage and surface lots. The parking rates vary depending on the day and time of the visit. Visitors can also use public transportation to get to Bayside Marketplace. The Metromover station is located right next to the shopping center, and the Metrorail station is a short walk away.
