The Victoria's Secret brand is the American lingerie retailer. The company was founded in 1977 and the first Victoria's secret store was opened in Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California.

At the very beginning of this luxury brand was the idea of making the purchase of underwear more comfortable for everyone especially for men. Founder Roy Raymond may have had no idea what kind of boom he would cause in the field of lingerie. He decided to change the way how people shop underwear while buying some for his wife.

After five successful years he sold Victoria's Secret to company named The Limited (now named L Brands Inc.) which owns the brand till today. The company grew rapidly and became the largest lingerie retail in US in next 10 years. Today they offer not only underwear but variety accessories and other beauty products such as parfums, swim suits etc. The L Brands Inc. company also owns brands Pink and Bath & Body Works.

Victoria Secret is well known for its Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows. It was awaited fashion show organized by Victoria's Secret that promoted new underwear for following season. Models for this event were known as Victoria's Secret Angels. In November 2019 the show was cancelled due to the public pressure to avoid showing women as sexual objects and the lack of diversity of body types.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 the Victoria's Secret brand plan to close around 25 % of all stores. Final number in 2021 should be around 775 stores worldwide.
