Just not the same as back in the day... by ,
In my opinion, Oak Brook Center is definitely NOT what it once was. Perhaps it too is suffering the decline of shopping malls in general, but the stores are just not as classy and varied and the overall atmosphere has changed to a more "so-so-ho-hum" kind of place. Just not the same as back in the day (60s through very early 2000's). Way back when, there was a certain feeling of elegance and electricity in the air as you walked through the place that seems strangely missing now; there was also a particular charm (and again, elegance) that has totally vanished. Many of the finer stores and even eateries are gone. Even the Website is kind of blah now and the design and color scheme leaves a lot to be desired. Just not the same all the way around but again, this is just my opinion.
