Verizon Wireless - Mankato, Minnesota 56001 - 4840 - River Hills Mall

As several time in the past, the consultant of the Verizon store in the Mall decided to throw in extra services in our new line contract that we never authorized him to do. Upon picking up a new device with a new addition to the family plan yesterday, the consultant said we had to pay tax on the device upfront, however, the amount was disproportionally large. I asked what else was included in the charge, besides the tax, and he repeated several times it was just the tax. I pointed out that the tax on the device cannot be 30% of the device retail price, after which he reluctantly agreed there was also a store set-up charge (never knew they had one). I then asked for a receipt but was told it would be emailed to me later - which I received at home where I saw the third charge of "Redux membership". I had no idea what this was, let alone the fact that the consultant intentionally lied to me and his colleagues was watching the entire situation, as if he wanted to see what it would end with. I emailed the Verizon store asking them to take away the service I don't need but to no avail. I will be filing an official complaint, as I consider this a financial fraud, when someone charges credit card of a customer without authorization for non-agreed services. Again, this is far not the first time the consultants throw in services without our knowledge, only to discover weeks or months later that we pay for services we never purchased. One time, it was device insurance, another time - 24 month additional line with a phone number attached. Be aware of this when shopping at this store.
