Sad but our reality. Just left the mall and until it happens to you you don’t know what racial profiling is. I was with my son and my sister and while trying on a jacket an employee approached my sister and asked if she needed help. We’ve noticed he had been following us and eyeing us since we walked in. He then asks her again if she’s ok. We both looked at each other confused because why wouldn’t she be ok? And he then said oh because ‘the kid was yelling’ Now at that time it didn’t register to me what his intentions were. So we asked why wouldn’t she be ok? And he then walked away. As we walked to the register we noticed him also walking towards the register and it was the most uncomfortable feeling ever. I just need everyone to hold people accountable whenever you’re in a situation like this. Because what if my son had some type of disorder that made him hyperactive or yell? Then what? And why did he feel so comfortable to approach us and say things like ‘are you ok?’ When we we’re just like everyone else who shops here.
