Things Remembered - Yorktown Heights, New York 10598 - 1100 - Jefferson Valley Mall

My wife and I recently stopped by and were heartbroken to see the store closing signs. I wanted to share something that happened during christmas at this very special store. My wife was hospitalized for awhile and we did not have time to do Christmas shopping. All my granddaughter wanted for Christmas was a snowglobe she saw at the store. We finally came a few days before Christmas and saw the store was very very busy. When we finally got to the register we were told the engraving would have to wait a few hours. My wife had an appointment soon and it was our fault for not planning a head. The woman behind the counter apologized over and over as we begged. That's when I saw one of the women at the machine looking down at what we wanted to engrave. She looked at us and made a nod upwards and pointed at the item then herself. We were confused and the woman at the counter must've seen our faces and turned to the nodding woman. The nodding woman looked away and waited until the other woman turned and then began pointing at the machine. We finally realized she was going to engrave ours next but didn't want to let anyone else know and we left our cell phone number for a completed text. We got the text 15 minutes later and the nodding woman gave us our completed snowglobe quietly and only smiled when we thanked her over and over. We felt like we just got away with a crime and we laughed about it all the way to the doctor's. Whenever we see the snowglobe on our granddaughter's dresser we laugh at the memory. We recently came back and saw the nodding woman who engraved a few more pieces for us that came out perfectly. The women who work here are always laughing and joking and make us laugh too. We visited here often and were never disappointed and bring home memories from each visist. Good luck to our friends at the Jefferson Valley Store!!
