The Limited - Sacramento, California 95814 - Sacramento Downtown Plaza

I was a regular customer at the plaza mall as a downtown resident but stopped going to that store after an encounter with a condescending sales person. I picked out several outfits and tried them on and had also appreciated her help and also appreciated the ones that she brought me. I bought them all because one of my goals had been to build a cute summer wardrobe and those pieces were nice. As I, a black woman in my late 20s, was leaving with my bags, I overheard her, a middle aged white woman, laughing and telling another salesperson that "It was like taking candy from a baby." This was the summer of 1999. I could not believe her condescending and wrongheaded presumption that she had manipulated me in some way. I bought the clothing because I wanted those pieces and nearly 20 years later, still have, wear and fit one of the dresses. But her tasteless comment meant that I never set foot in that Limited location again, as much as I love the Limited.
