Sunglass Hut - Thornton, Colorado CO 80023 - Denver Premium Outlets

So I decided to visit the Sunglass Hut at Denver Outlet Mall today, hoping to surprise my wife with a nice pair of sunglasses, and I’ve never been treated so rudely by a retailer. I walked in and the older lady asked if I had a mask, I explained that I could not wear a mask. She asked why, I told her “medical reasons”. She asked what the “medical reasons” were (which she can’t legally do), but I obliged and told her asthma combined with bronchial spasms. She said she needed to see a doctors note!? I told her do to the Americans with Disabilities Act she wasn’t even allowed to ask my condition, let alone require me to show her a doctors note?! She said it was a requirement or else I couldn’t be in the store; I told her I didn’t have one and had never heard anybody require that before. SHE CALLED SECURITY ON ME! They basically told her she couldn’t require that and that it was in fact NOT a policy. So she told the younger girl not to let anybody else in the store until I left because “[she was] sure nobody else would want to be in the store with somebody who refused to wear a mask”. I did have a mask in my hand that the Oakley Vault had handed to me, (but they were very nice and never once questioned why I didn’t put it on), and she asked me why I even bothered to carry one around if I wasn’t going to wear it, to which I explained the reason and she proceeded to roll her eyes and bad mouth me from an earshot away to the other employee. I have never felt so ostracized by an establishment, and for a medical reason nonetheless! Your employee needs some SERIOUS lessons in customer service and legality before she winds up getting y’all sued. She definitely cost you two customers yesterday. I should add that we also shopped at Oakley Vault, Coach, Michael Kors, Levi, and a couple other retailers, and all of the others were very nice and accommodating, offered masks if we would like, and never once questioned any medical disabilities.
