Fear and Loathing At The Check Out Stand
I went to Safeway to do my shopping, because Costco had lines around the building. I had the worst experience, that I've ever had, at any grocery store. The Checker was arrogant and rude. I complained to the store , but to no avail. I ended up calling Corporate on them in AZ. to get any action done. I will never shop at Safeway again. People of Turlock, please do not support this store.

Six checkout stands——only one checker open with six customers waiting in line——asked the one and only checker to call for backup—-his response “They are out to lunch”. So I promptly left my cart with 7-8 bottles of wine and other to be purchases—$200-$250, and headed to Save Mart. Two checkout lanes open there and completed my shopping. There are other choices in shopping and why should anyone put up with Safeway’s lousy service and rhetoric. At Save Mart I ran into a friend shopping and told her of my Safeway experience. Her response: “That’s why I quit Safeway”
