One Hour Jewelry Repair - Winston Salem, North Carolina 27103 - Hanes Mall

I gave One Hour Jewelry repair a one because it is the lowest possible on here, IMHO they do not even deserve that. My 84 year old mother had been a loyal customer for almost 15 years and at the beginning of December 2019, she took her long gold chain and pendant (lets call this chain A) along with a new (her Christmas present from my dad) pendant on a short chain (lets call this chain B) to the One Hour Jewelry Repair in Hanes Mall. She requested that they remove the pendant that was on chain A, it required the ring at the end be removed in order to remove the pendant. She want the new pendant that was on chain B added to chain A and a larger ring soldered to it to stop the pendant from coming off. They said no problem. She went back to pick it up and the man at the kiosk showed her her old pendant that had been on chain A had been removed as he dropped it in the bag. Seeing her old pendant had been removed, she never questioned the work they did. When my parents got home, they set it aside as this was her Christmas present. On Christmas eve, my parents exchanged gifts. To their surprise her new pendant was not on chain A as requested but it was on chain B. The only difference was he had added a larger ring to Chain B. THIS IS NOT what she had requested. She looked in the bag and the old chain A was not there. This was a long gold chain she has had for years (approx a $200.00 chain). Needless to say, they were both extremely upset. She called me and I told her they needed to not to stress out about it, that I'm sure it was just a mistake. I mean she had been giving them business for almost 5 years, surely they would not rip her off. That was me trying to be positive and give the store the benefit of the doubt. Well in this instance it was not warranted because she went back to the store and explained the situation and the man and woman both at the store argued with her that they never had her chain. This is an impossible fact. FACT-- In order for him to have put her old pendant in the bag, he would have had to unsoldered the large ring on chain A to remove the pendant. Which he did because he put the old pendant from chain A in the bag. PROOF THAT HE HAD THE LONG OLDER CHAIN A! They argued with my mom until she was so upset she had to leave. Leave WITHOUT her long gold chain. If this store would do this to what had been an almost 15-year old loyal customer, what do you think they would do to you? Or is this just an example of a store taking advantage of the elderly? My parent s are 84 and 87. Either way, in my opinion this is NOT A STORE TO DO BUSINESS WITH. To the store owners, YOU SHOULD BE ASHMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!! But then you will have to answer to a hight power for your deeds. I have advised my mother to go back once more and try to talk to you but she is so upset over this matter that I am not sure she will. (and for those wondering why my father doesn't stand up for her, sadly, due to cancer, he is unable to speak or he would) However, if she does and you still act so unkind and wrong to her, I'll be back for further reviews.
