Seminole Towne Center is a super-regional enclosed mall located in Sanford, Florida, 20 miles north of Orlando at the intersection of I-4 and SR 417. It opened in 1995 and has over 72 retail shops, 20 restaurants, a movie theater, and a health club. It is currently owned and managed by Kohan Retail Investment Group since 2020. Seminole Towne Center is situated on 200 Towne Center Circle, Sanford, FL 32771. It was developed by Simon Property Group on the site of a former orange grove. The project cost $150 million to build and was designed by JPRA Architects, who also designed The Mall at Millenia in Orlando. The mall opened on September 22, 1995 with five anchor stores: Dillard’s, JCPenney, Sears, Burdines (now Macy’s), and Parisian (now Belk). The mall also had an ice skating rink, which was later removed in 2004. The mall underwent several renovations and changes over the years, such as adding Old Navy and Bed Bath & Beyond as new tenants in 1998, replacing Parisian with McRae’s in 2004 and then with Belk in 2006, replacing Burdines with Macy’s in 2005, adding H&M as a new tenant in 2010, replacing Sears with Burlington and Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2012, adding Athletic Apex as a new tenant in 2016, and adding Elev8 Fun as a new tenant in 2021.

The mall was sold by Simon Property Group to Washington Prime Group in 2014 for $75 million. Washington Prime Group transferred the mall’s ownership to Kohan Retail Investment Group in 2020 for an undisclosed amount. Kohan Retail Investment Group is a private company that specializes in acquiring distressed malls and revitalizing them. Today has Seminole Towne Center over 72 stores that offer a variety of products and services to its customers. Some of the major retailers include H&M, Belk, JCPenney, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Burlington, and Old Navy. Seminole Towne Center also has several pop-up stores that feature emerging brands and exclusive collections. Seminole Towne Center has over 20 restaurants that cater to different tastes and budgets. Some of the restaurants include Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, Olive Garden, Chili’s Grill & Bar, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Panda Express, and Chick-fil-A. Seminole Towne Center also has a food court that offers fast food choices such as Sbarro, Subway, Charleys Philly Steaks, and Auntie Anne’s. Seminole Towne Center is open seven days a week from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. Seminole Towne Center has a two-level parking structure that can accommodate up to 5 000 vehicles. It is located on Towne Center Circle and Rinehart Road. The parking is free for all customers.
