Godiva Chocolatier - Atlanta, Georgia GA 30326 - Lenox Square

I was in the store with the couple when it happen. This is wrong and when she left I had to stop her down at the mall to let her know I will support! I too will not come to the store anymore they need to let that employee go! She is not only racist, but bluntly told the wife he looked like he was about to steal. This lady who is rude and ungrateful to customers plus have terrible customer service need to be fire. I will let my families and friends know to never go there. I too will not come back not even to another godiva in Atlanta area!

I went in today with my husband to redeem a rewards certificate for my birthday. We took a little time to look around before I decided on what I wanted and was helped by a young woman. After my chocolates were packaged I approached the register. My husband continued to look around at the displays. The cashier did not greet me when I approached. Instead, she turned to her coworker to ask if she was keeping an eye on the guy in the corner. The guy in the corner being my husband. I was disgusted by the comment and immediately let her know that he was with me and did not need to be watched. Her response was that he was shifting around a lot. Shifting = walking around the store. If you are a person of color I would advise you not to visit this location as their staff is made uncomfortable by the sight of black men walking around the store. I was so frazzled that I left before asking for the name of the employee but she was a white woman who looked to be in her late 20’s to 30’s with short dark hair - whoever you are I pray that you really think next time before being so blatantly racist. It's Godiva and my husband like most sane people was not planning to risk a charge to steal a $39.99 box of chocolates. I was so uncomfortable that I decided to leave without purchasing anything and I won't be back.
