Horrible Experience by ,
My name is Maria Lopez-Rodriguez and I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding the rude treatment I received by one of your employees on the November 1, 2019 at your store. It occurred approximately at 1 P.M. when I entered the store with my daughter and mother. My daughter and I began looking as the items in the isles. My mother went to browse at the handbag items which were displayed on the wall. She was standing about 15 feet from the counter when the woman at the register repeatedly yelled and told my mother that she could not stand there. I then heard the yelling and asked her, "How is she suppose to look at the bags if she is not allowed to get close to them?", she then said "Well, you need to ask permission!" And so I did. She seemed very upset and troubled. As we gathered our items to purchase at the checkout, she immediately gave me attitude. The employee working the cashier was named Jody, Jodie or Jodi and I do not know the correct spelling since she refused to give my daughter the correct spelling of her name when she asked her politely a few times. She was a Caucasian, broad-figured, had orange, wavy hair, brown eyes, and about five-foot and four-inches in height. After having placed all of our items in the bag, she immediately requested the payment. She was irritable with the worst attitude and extremely rude. I sadly believe she is a racist. She also licked her finger to grab the plastic shopping bags which I find improper and unsanitary. She also did this to the customer before me. She is supposed to use a wet sponge as everyone else does in stores. Before she placed the items in the bag, my daughter informed me not to place our items in the bag since this employee licked every bag she handled. As we were exiting the store, she mumbled, "I don't have to give anyone my name!", I told her, you already gave me your name, you need to make customers feel welcomed and treat them respectfully which you do not do." She did not for one-second attempt to apologize for her behavior. And so I left the store very upset wondering to myself, "How and why do some employees treat customers in this manner?" I have been a long time customer at your store and was most upset by these events. Since it happened, I have been doing my shopping at another local grocery store as I was most embarrassed and did not want to experience this ever again. I hope that this letter explains my feelings and disappointment with what has occurred, I would not like this to happen to me or any other customer and hope that corrective measures are taken swiftly.
