Kim, I assume the owner [?] is super helpful. He told me the cost and that there would be no charge if the repair did not work. Soldering on my glasses frame was required, which works well on silver and /or gold, and probably not on the glasses frame metal. He disassembled my glasses and spent about 1.5 hours attempting the repair. No cost as he returned my glasses to me. A younger man was there, who ensured that there were no issues because of language and further explained the difficulty of the repair. Very honest and very fair. C & J were recommended by my optometrist. In fact, another potential customer walked in with her glasses, while I was talking with Kim. Worth the $30 to $40 if the repair works. My new frames were over $180. The wall of the shop is full of clocks. Clock repair and fine jewelry repair are difficult to find these days. Especially on premises. Sterling silver items in need of repair? I would take it to C & J for repair work. C & J is next to a shoe repair shop. Both types of businesses are vanishing. Again, worth a visit. A repair may be cheaper than new.
